Dye Testing of the Sanitary and Storm Sewers

On or about June 30, 2008, URS Corporation will begin dye testing the sanitary and storm sewers in the areas listed below.  URS was hired by the City to do the testing as part of a study to determine how storm water can be prevented from entering the sanitary sewer system and causing the sanitary sewers to back up and flood basements.  The dye will be green-colored and is not hazardous or radioactive.  You may see the dye in the roadway, ditches and streams.  The testing will be done within the roadway right of way and not on private property.  URS began inspecting sanitary sewer manholes for this project the week of June 23, 2008.

The areas included are:

  • Jaycox Rd. south of Mills Rd., north of Deborah Dr., west to Avon Belden Rd.and east to Olive Dr.
  • North Barton Rd. to east corporation limit south of Mills Rd. and north of Center Ridge Rd.
  • Olive Ave., Wallace Blvd., Cornell Ave., Main Ave., Broad Blvd., Pleasant Ave., Lear Nagle Rd. and other streets south of Mills Rd., north of Center Ridge Rd., east of Denise Dr. and west of Lear Nagle Rd.

Access to roads and drives will be maintained at all times.  Should you have any concerns, please contact the Engineering Department at 440-353-0842.
