2008-2009 Council Profiles

BERNADINE R. BUTKOWSKI: Elected Council Member - at -Large. Her term will expire December 31, 2009. Mrs. Butkowski currently serves as our President of Council and as Council Liaison to the Senior Citizens Advisory Board. She served as a Council Member - at - Large in 1996-1997 and continuously since 2000. In previous years she has served as Council President Pro-Tem, Council Liaison to the Senior Citizens Advisory Board and on the Utilities Committee, Administrative Committee, Finance Committee, Safety Committee, Streets, Sidewalks and Bridges Committee and Board of Drainage and Flood Control. Council Member Butkowski is married to John. They have two children. 

KEVIN CORCORAN: Elected Council Member - at - Large. His term will expire December 31, 2009. Mr. Corcoran currently serves as the Chairperson of the Safety Committee and Member of the Administrative Committee and Streets, Sidewalks & Bridges Committee. He is serving as Council Liaison on the Multi-Purpose Room Board of Trustees. Mr. Corcoran is currently active in the Center Ridge Road Corridor Study Committee and the North Ridgeville Community Development Advisory Committee. Before election to City Council, Mr. Corcoran served as Chairman of the 2006 Charter Review Committee and served on the Tax Abatement Review Board. He is married to Lauren and has three children.

RAY E. MCLAUGHLIN III:  Elected Council Member - at - Large. His term will expire December 31, 2009. Mr. McLaughlin currently serves as Chairperson to the Streets, Sidewalks & Bridges Committee and is a Member of the Buildings & Lands Committee and Utilities Committee. Mr. McLaughlin is Council Liaison to the Parks & Recreation Commission and Planning Commission and serves on the Board of Drainage and Flood Control. Mr. McLaughlin resides on Kenssington Drive and is married to Kimberly. They have four children. 

NANCY J. BUESCHER: Elected Ward I Council Member. Her term will expire December 31, 2011. Council Member Buescher is our President Pro-Tem and currently serves as Chairperson of the Buildings and Lands Committee and Member of the Finance Committee and Utilities Committee. She is also a Member of the Board of Drainage and Flood Control and is the alternate Liaison to the Planning Commission. Mrs. Buescher is serving her fourth consecutive term on Council and has previously served on the Buildings & Lands Committee, Safety Committee, Streets, Sidewalks & Bridges Committee and Chairperson of the Utilities Committee. She also served as the Council Member of the Multi-Purpose Room Board of Trustees. Prior to Mrs. Buescher's election to Council, she served as a Member on the Heritage Preservation Committee of the Master Plan Committee and the Buildings and Lands Advisory Committee. Mrs. Buescher is married to Ken and they have two children. 

DENNIS J. BOOSE: Elected Ward II Council Member. His term will expire December 31, 2011. Mr. Boose is serving his second consecutive term on Council and previously served as a Council Member - at - Large from October 1998 through December 1999. He currently serves as the Chairperson of the Finance Committee and Member of the Administrative Committee and Safety Committee. He continues to serve as a Member of the Tax Abatement Review Board. During his 2006-2007 term he served as Chairperson of the Safety Committee and Member of the Administrative Committee and Finance Committee. During his 1998-1999 term he was Chairman of the Finance Committee and Member of the Administrative Committee, Safety Committee, and Tax Abatement Review Board. He has also served as a Member of the Parks and Recreation Commission and the City's Master Plan Committee. Mr. Boose and his wife, Lisa, reside on Denise Drive. They have two children.

RICHARD W. JAENKE: Elected Ward III Council Member. Mr. Jaenke's term will expire December 31, 2011. Mr. Jaenke is serving his second consecutive term on Council and currently serves as Chairperson of the Administrative Committee and Member of the Safety Committee and Streets, Sidewalks & Bridges Committee. During his 2006-2007 term, he served as Chairperson of the Buildings & Lands Committee and Member of the Administrative Committee and Finance Committee. He also serves on the Board of Drainage and Flood Control and as Council Liaison to Planning Commission. Prior to Mr. Jaenke's election to Council, he served on Planning Commission. Mr. Jaenke is married and resides on Cobblestone Circle.

BOB OLESEN: Elected Ward IV Council Member. Mr. Olesen's term will expire December 31, 2011. Mr. Olesen is serving his fourth consecutive term on Council and serves as Chairman of the Utilities Committee and Member of the Buildings and Lands Committee and Finance Committee. During his prior terms he served as Chairman of the Administrative Committee and Buildings and Lands Committee and a Member of the Safety Committee, Streets, Sidewalks and Bridges Committee, Utilities Committee and has been a six year Member of the Buildings & Lands Committee. He has also served as Council Liaison and alternate Liaison to the Planning Commission and Council Liaison to the Senior Citizens Advisory Board. Prior to Mr. Olesen's election to Council, he had served on the City's Master Plan Committee, Planning Commission and Board of Zoning and Building Appeals. Mr. Olesen is married to Ann and they reside on Field Stone Circle.
